Dressing with Sensible Style for work!
In continuation of previous post, specially for working women.
No matter what outfits you choose for the office, professional women need to be careful not to draw the wrong type of attention by wearing inappropriate clothing “you want to be observed for your mind”. Putting your best face and best look forward can boost your confidence. “What’s most responsible for you being where you are is hard work and perseverance but showing up to the meetings looking like you know what you are doing helps people believe that you know what you are talking about and that helps you get to the next level.”
For office, try colors in beige, browns, khakis, olives, navy blue, black etc for trousers and skirts. For the top use cotton and linens in fresher tones of peaches, powder blues, mauves in delicate classic prints.
For each trouser color, you can have 2 or 3 options of neutrals, pastels and dark colored top wear to pair in with the trousers.
Darker bottom wear with lighter tone tops work out as the most practical choice and looks good every time. Team dark browns with lighter toned rust to create the warm look, Combine gray with blue to achieve the cooler look.
For evening wear, choose metallic tones in dark and bright colors and a clean silhouette with scarves and accessories. Jewel tones of ruby reds, jade greens, mauves also look great. Gold and silver metallic tones highlight the element of mystery. Evening wear is more design and trend oriented.Â
A-line dresses look good on all body types. It helps hide those large hips. Always wear low-waist denims or trousers which are slightly flared at the bottoms to give you long legs. It’s a good idea to wear ankle length skirts or pants; this allows your leg line to appear longer by showing off more of your leg and top of your foot. To get that long, lean silhouette, wear 3 inches heels for formal and evening wear.
Keep in touch with style-thumb through fashion magazines now and again and stay on top of things. While you don’t want to necessarily be trendy, you do want to look current looking good makes you feel good. Regardless of what items you choose for your wardrobe, choose items that best suits your body type. Although you should always strive to dress in a trendy style, keep it sensible.
Go shopping with confidence and build your stylish mix and match wardrobe. The golden rule is to look stylish, if you look stylish - you will feel confident. If you feel confident, you will act confident. You will be giving out positive signals. People will take notice of you. And most important You will take notice of you!

This post is written by my younger sister, who apart from being a fashion designer, tries to keep me in vogue and trendy, and many times she ends up shopping for me. Some of the colors, cuts and style wouldn’t have found their way into my wardrobe if not for her. By the way pic on the right is me every morning wondering what to wear.
