Get together at Yana’s

Back with Friends

Another memorable homecoming event happened in the last week of December when all of us from my group decided to meet at ‘Yana’s Sizzlers’. So there we were on a Saturday evening at Yana’s. My friends arrived one by one with kids in tow. It was so refreshing to meet everyone, and the warm enthusiastic welcome I was getting was quite heady.

Now that the ladies don’t meet on a daily basis as we used to during our days of working together in the same company, we took the initial few minutes in complimenting each other on the new looks that we acquired since our last meeting.

Yana’s is one of our favorite hangout and we have some sweet memories of the place. This time also we got the same corner and we clubbed the kids together on one table and started chit chatting in between ordering our favorite Sizzlers.

Everyone commonly complained about my losing a few more kilos. In some way my friends are also after me to gain a few kilos. Manjusha was in a beautiful pink dress, Vidita as usual looking pretty, Vidya ever so serene and Megha as usual the absent minded bustling self.

We gingerly ordered for Fish tikka sizzlers, yes at Yana’s you get Indian flavours in the Italian Sizzlers and they are really yummy just the way the name sounds. Now, except for Vidita, Megha and myself all the other ladies are pure veggies. Since Megha as usual didn’t arrive on time, Vidita and me starting chomping on the Fish tikka sizzler and our usual uummm woow.. followed each of the sumptous bite we were taking out of the hot plate. Much to our delight our veggie friends Vidya and Manjusha also started ooh-aahing on a bite of potato or cauliflower. But Vidita beat them all.

And yes, I forgot to mention Megha arrived at this exact moment and declared that she was going to eat veggie due to some pooja at home. As usual Meena ditched us and the always enthu Mangal also couldn’t make it.

We were so chirpy and were enjoying the gossiping oops the catching up on common friends that we didn’t realize that our table was the centre of attraction for all the fellow diners, but the ladies were least bit bothered. We also spent a good amount of time on admiring the new mobile handsets and also my iTouch.

After managing to drain down all the sizzlers with a glass of ice lemon tea we ordered a round of dessert for everyone brownie with icecream, the groups yet another favorite. Over dessert we made a big plan of an overnite stay at Fariyas in Lonavla since everyone including me declared that we want a break. With a promise to get together every other month whether Lonavla or no Lonavla we left for home with a content smile on our faces.

PS: the snap of the happy group was taken with Manjusha’s N series handset :-) or was it Vidita’s same old camera.
