Wear your personality!
This post is written by my younger sister, who apart from being a fashion designer, tries to keep me in vogue and trendy, and many times she ends up shopping for me. Some of the colors, cuts and style wouldn’t have found their way into my wardrobe if not for her. By the way pic on the right is me every morning wondering what to wear. For some great tips read on >>
The thing to remember is that everyone has an impression about you. And it’s their impression and their perception. If their first impression of you is wrong, you need the opportunity to do a lot of talking to turn things favourable. Sometimes we don’t even get that chance. It is far better to make sure that people have the right perception about you the first time and every time.
- Dress smart all you women to make that lasting impression.
Women today do worry about fashion. They do try to build and maintain a quality wardrobe filled with essential items that showcase both their bodies and their taste. Dressing up is fun and you should wear your individuality proudly! - Build your wardrobe! Mix and match is the mantra!!
Pick up casual clothing, stick to the basics. Look for shirts and tops that can easily be mixed and matched to produce the most combinations possible. Balance the line between popular design and the classics that best fit the bodies. - Perhaps the most difficult item for women of any age is to find is a pair of jeans.
A great pair of jeans can perk you up regardless of your mood and can go with any top of any color any style and any fit., so if you the right cut and one that fits, by all means, buy multiples! When searching for jeans, choose a pair with a bit of stretch material, such as Lycra, incorporated into the blend so that the jeans will fit perfectly each and every time. Skinny jeans are in style but it does not flatter average body types. So go for straight fits …looks glamorous with boots or a pair of heels. - Pick up whatever you like but strictly individualistic.
Take advantage of color! Play it up, wear darkish or muted tones to elongate and slenderize the figure, dark colors recede and help draw away attention.
Hot hues help catch the eye and are good for body parts you want to play up. - You can also wear as many bright, fun colors as you want–they’re wonderfully cheery. The trick? Either wear the bright splashy colors on top or the bottom, not both on top and bottom as it tends to add more weight.
- Stay away from stiff fabrics that don’t sit well. You’ll look uncomfortable even if you aren’t. Go for fabrics that move with you, not against you, and drape like a dream. Keep it simple. Look for clothes with good, simple lines and a flattering cut. Big appliqués, big buttons, complicated patterns, or extraneous details tend to overpower and gets visually busy…
- Pick one hue. Dressing up in one single color is a singular best way to look slim. Do not wear large patterns, smaller patterns look elegant and fool the eye to make you appear slimmer.
Spark up simple but stunning basic pieces with great jewelry or scarves that will bring the attention up to your beautiful face. Earrings are a natural. - Shawls? Buy a bunch! Embroidered silk or rayon for summer, wool or cashmere for the winter. These are not your grandmother’s shawls! They add texture and dimension to any outfit, Shawls are much easier to wear and manage.
- Try skirts. They can be wonderfully comfortable if you get the right ones. Slip on the right length skirt which ends just above the knee in soft, easy-draping fabrics. They can add a nice graceful sweep to your figure and elongate legs. Fit-wise, avoid anything too tight or too loose. Look for clothes that skim your body or float gracefully around it.
Capri pants are surprisingly slimmer, look for one that ends few inches above your ankles. - Think layering. Simple spaghetti in a smashing color worn over a shirt /t-shirt instantaneously adds life to your look. You can also pair up two tees/two shirts; it makes a nice casual statement. T-shirts, V-neck and deep scoop neck t-shirts elongates the neck and make the torso appear longer by showing off your collarbone.
- And finally the boomer. To get a longer, leaner body, wear clothes with thin vertical stripes. Pants , shirts, skirts, dresses, they can be on anything.
Let your clothes do the talking for you and half the world is won. And remember one thing you are what your clothes portray.
PS: I segmented the original into two, the second follows in the next post. Done for better impact ![]()
